The St. Joe County Public Library will reopen its LaSalle Branch on May 4, 2026, following a year-long renovation that reimagines the space for connection, creativity, and community use. The community is invited to celebrate at an official ribbon-cutting ceremony on Tuesday, May 12 from 4–6 p.m., where visitors can explore the renovated space and be among the first to experience everything the updated branch has to offer.

Closed since May 2025, the newly updated branch introduces expanded, modernized spaces designed to better serve patrons of all ages.

Want To See What’s New?

Join us on May 12th for our Ribbon Cutting Ceremony from 4-6 pm. Attendees will enjoy refreshments and music, as well as a chance to tour the branch.

The branch features updated furniture, lighting, paint, and carpeting throughout the building. A mural by local artist Kamika Perry and a sculpture by African artist Nickson Muti add new visual elements to the refreshed space. Outside, new landscaping with native flowers, grasses, and shrubs creates a more welcoming entrance while also supporting local pollinators.

A new 2,000-square-foot addition provides much-needed space for the branch and can serve as a community meeting room. When not reserved, the space will be left open for public use. Study rooms for students and remote workers are now available as well. Inside the branch, visitors will also find a new art studio with high-quality supplies and equipment available for use in the studio.

Families will notice a redesigned children’s play area with a travel theme, inspired by the branch’s location near the airport and commuter rail. The updated area is designed to encourage imagination and exploration for young visitors.

The branch officially reopens to the public on Monday, May 4 at 9 am. The community is also invited to an official ribbon-cutting on Tuesday, May 12, from 4 to 6 pm to celebrate the reopening and explore the renovated space.
