Studio 304 at the St. Joe County Public Library is more than a digital media lab. It’s a launchpad for artists, musicians, designers, and creators of all kinds. Whether you’re recording your first podcast or album, printing a 3D prototype, or editing your next short film, Studio 304 provides the tools, space, and support to bring your ideas to life. Studio 304 is located on the same campus as our Main Library in Downtown South Bend.

Who can use Studio 304?
The computer workstations, scanners, and color printers are open to all users ages 14 and up. Children under 14 must be accompanied by an adult (age 18 or older).
Recording studios are available to SJCPL cardholders in good standing (ages 14 and up, or under 14 with adult supervision) for audio recording and digital media work.
Cardholders age 18+ may borrow equipment. A valid photo ID with current address and a credit/debit card (stored on file) are required. A $50 deposit is required for items valued at $100 or more.
How do I reserve a station or studio?
Recording rooms can be reserved in 2-hour blocks by phone, email, or online. Walk-ins are welcome if space is available. You can book stuido spaces online here.
What if I don’t have much experience with design or editing software?
Knowledgeable staff are always available to help. We provide quick-start guides and can recommend books or tutorials based on your goals.
How much does it cost?
Studio 304’s equipment and software are free to use, though some materials (see below) may incur a fee. A credit/debit card is required to borrow equipment, and a $50 deposit is required for items valued at $100 or more.
USB drives (2GB): $5.00 at the Circulation Desk
Inkjet printing: $1.00/page, or $0.50 with your own paper
Lamination (8.5 x 11 in.): $0.50/page
Large-format printing (24 in. wide): $5.00 per linear foot (rounded up to nearest 3 inches)
3D printing: $0.10 per gram (includes support material)
Additional items: CDs/DVDs: $2.00 each, or bring your own
