The St. Joe County Public Library (SJCPL) is committed to protecting your personally identifiable information. The Library’s website is a public service, and SJCPL respects the privacy of all website visitors. This document addresses privacy practices for and applies only to information collected by this website

What information does SJCPL collect?

The library collects two kinds of visitor data: anonymized and personally identifiable information. Anonymized data is recorded when a visitor interacts with, and it can not be linked to any individual. 

We collect statistical information for the purposes of managing and improving services and for reporting. Website access information is automatically logged by servers and software programs. The information gathered does not identify individual visitors. Information collected includes but is not limited to: IP addresses, date and time of access, operating systems, browser types and versions, access duration, and the domain name of the website from which you linked to our website. Persistent cookies (discussed in more detail below) may be used to further gather statistical information about website usage.

Personally identifiable information includes any details that can be used to identify you personally (name, address, telephone number, or email address). Individuals may choose to submit personally identifiable information in order to make suggestions for the purchase of materials,  register for programs or a library card,  utilize the “ contact us” form, sign up for email newsletters, or make a donation. This information is collected on webforms, and we do not collect this information unless you provide it to us voluntarily.

How does SJCPL use personal information?

SJCPL collects personal information for the purpose of operating the website and delivering requested services. SJCPL does not sell, rent, or otherwise distribute or disclose this information to outside companies or organizations unless legally required to do so or with the individual’s consent.

How does SJCPL handle a child’s personal information?

SJCPL does not intentionally collect personally identifiable information from individuals under 13 years of age. Parents and guardians should review this privacy policy and those of third party websites or other service providers before permitting their children to visit or use these sites. 

How does SJCPL use cookies?

SJCPL also uses cookies to collect information on how our website is being accessed and when. SJCPL uses Google Analytics and Hotjar cookies to analyze data about website traffic so that we can make improvements to the website.

Persistent (multiple session) Cookies
