Celebrate A Very Laufey Day with a special pop-up at Main Library on August 23, then find the limited-edition card at all SJCPL locations beginning August 24.
St. Joe County Public Library is teaming up with two-time GRAMMY® Award-winning artist and New York Times bestselling author Laufey and the global Laufey Book Club to release a special limited-edition library card.
The collaboration is part of A Very Laufey Day, a worldwide celebration taking place August 23 and designed to bring fans together through community, creativity and connection. This year’s theme, “A Celebration of the Arts,” includes stops at museums, live performances, libraries and independent bookstores around the world.
And SJCPL is officially part of the celebration.
Celebrate A Very Laufey Day at Main Library
Join us Sunday, August 23, from 1–3 p.m. at the Welcome Center inside Main Library for a special Laufey Day pop-up.
Both new and existing cardholders can get the limited-edition SJCPL x Laufey Book Club library card during the event while supplies last. Fans can also pick up a limited-edition bookmark created for this year’s A Very Laufey Day celebration.
Can’t make it Sunday? Beginning Monday, August 24, the Laufey card will be available at all 10 SJCPL locations while supplies last.
The card is free for eligible new cardholders and existing SJCPL cardholders.

- A photo ID
- Proof of Address*
*If your photo ID does not show your current address, bring a recent bill, bank statement or piece of official mail to verify residency.
Only individuals living in an eligible township in St. Joe County are eligible for a resident card. You can learn more about which townships fall within our service area here.
From Laufey Book Club to Your Library Card
Laufey founded the Laufey Book Club in 2022, creating a global community of readers through shared book selections and online gatherings.
In 2025, the Book Club partnered with five library systems in Los Angeles County, Boston, Phoenix, Fulton County and Reykjavík to create collaborative library cards for A Very Laufey Day. Most participating systems reported breaking single-day library card sign-up records when the cards launched.
This year, the program has grown dramatically. SJCPL’s design is one of nearly 50 Laufey Book Club library cards launching around the world in celebration of A Very Laufey Day.
The partnership comes as Laufey serves as the American Library Association’s 2026 honorary chair for Library Card Sign-up Month, helping highlight the ways libraries connect people with books, creativity, learning and community.
