Main Library hosts Science Alive

The St. Joe County Public Library will host the thirty-first annual Science Alive on Feb. 11 (Saturday) at Main Library from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. 

Through hands-on science demonstrations and fun, educational activities, children will be encouraged to explore science, technology, engineering and math. They will meet scientists, naturalists and conservationists that are making a difference in our community and will explore exhibits from nearly thirty local organizations including:

  • Boys & Girls Clubs of St. Joe County   
  • Notre Dame Energy
  • Riverbend Community Math Center
  • Notre Dame Chemistry and Biochemistry
  • Notre Dame Association of Women in Science
  • Potato Creek State Park
  • Potawatomi Zoo
  • St. Joseph County Parks
  • St. Joseph County Water and Soil Conservation District 
  • Studebaker National Museum

Stage shows will be held in the Leighton Auditorium at the following times:

Silly Safaris
A Silly Safaris Live Animal Show is the perfect blend of fact, fun, and humor for all ages. Enjoy a variety of reptiles, mammals, birds and bugs for an experience everyone will remember.

No Snow Day for the Brain
Join Self-Healing Communities of Michiana to explore our amazing brains through a fun story about a brother and sister on a snow day adventure.

3:00 p.m.

Kaboomistry with the Michigan Science Center
Why do things explode? Learn about the relationships between pressure, temperature, and fuel to explain why things go KA-BOOM! We will mix physics and chemistry to get some loud, flashy effects.
