Storytime, Babytime, & Playtime

At St. Joseph County Public Library, every moment is an opportunity to learn, laugh, and grow! We offer storytime, playtime, babytime, and sensory time. Our programs are designed for kids ages 0–5. Inspired by the Every Child Ready to Read program, our sessions combine talking, singing, reading, writing, and playing to help your little ones thrive while having fun.

Whether it’s exploring through play, bonding with your baby, or diving into a good story, there’s something for every little learner.

Babytime

Don’t miss out on this fun way of introducing books to your little one! Babytimes are designed for ages 0-2. We invite you and your child to participate in songs, fingerplays, and movement.

Playtime

Help your child develop skills to learn to read through free and guided play using our collection of toys and early literacy materials. Recommended for ages 0-5.

Storytime

Enjoy books, rhymes, and songs which build on practices that prepare children to learn to read! Storytimes are designed for families with children ages 3-5.

Tiny Tumblers

Tumble, jump, and play at this obstacle course with games and activities for babies and toddlers. Recommended for ages 0-2.

Sensory Time

While we welcome children of all abilities to all of our programs, for children with sensory sensitivities, we also offer a specialized program in a relaxed and welcoming environment. You can find upcoming dates for those sessions below.
