St. Joe County Public Library Announces Its Inaugural Curated Community Exhibition!

We are thrilled to invite local artists to participate in our first-ever curated exhibition, designed to provide a platform for showcasing talent and fostering connections within the regional art community. This fine arts exhibition will feature works in charcoal, pencil, graphite, oil, and acrylics. We encourage both emerging and established artists to submit their work and connect with peers across the region.

Exhibition Details:

The exhibition will run from June 26 to July 23, 2025, with an opening reception on June 26, 2025 from 5:30pm-7:00pm.

Submission Guidelines:

  • We encourage all Michiana artists ages 16 & older to submit their work
  • Each artist may submit up to two original works created within the last two years (2023-2025).
  • Only two-dimensional (2D) works in charcoal, pencil, graphite, oil, and acrylics are accepted; no three-dimensional (3D) works are eligible.
  • Submissions must meet size requirements (no larger than 48 inches in length or width, and no heavier than 10 pounds).
  • If work is accepted for the exhibit, it must remain on display for the duration of the exhibition and can be picked up between July 23 – July 30, 2025.

Framing & Presentation Requirements:

  • All works must be ready for installation.
  • Two-dimensional pieces must be framed or wired for hanging; those not prepared will not be accepted.
  • No installation pieces or works requiring artist presence for installation will be accepted.

Important Dates and Submission Process:

  • April 16 – April 28, 2025: Online submission window for Round 1.
  • May 5, 2025: Artists will be notified via email if selected for Round 2.
  • May 7 – May 21, 2025: Selected finalists must hand-deliver their works for final consideration.
  • May 26, 2025: Final acceptance notifications will be sent.

Pick-up of Non-Accepted Works

  • May 28 – June 11, 2025 (during regular library hours).

Curator: Kamika Perry

Kamika Perry is the Creative Spaces Coordinator for the St. Joe County Public Library. Kamika has been exhibited at the Elkhart Midwest Museum, the South Bend Museum of Art, and here at the St. Joe County Public Library. She has won several awards in juried competitions including the “Well Crafted” award at the Elkhart Midwest Museum, “Best in Show” and “Best in Fine Arts” at Art Beat 2024, and 2022.
