We’re excited to welcome families back to Explore-A-Story on Saturday, November 2, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Main Library’s Community Learning Center! This free, interactive literacy event is specially designed for children ages 0-5 and their caregivers, featuring hands-on activities inspired by ¡Fiesta! A Festival of Colors by Duncan Tonatiuh.
This year’s event highlights include a live Mexican Folkloric dance performance, immersive storytelling, and breakout activity sessions that support early literacy skills. Children will engage in sensory play, creative crafts, and a special storytime that brings the beauty of Mexican culture to life. To make the day even more memorable, Curious George will be there for photos, and kids can enjoy face painting and other surprises.
And for families needing a refreshment break, the Rico Suave taco truck will be set up in the courtyard, offering delicious tacos for purchase!
Why Explore-A-Story is Great for Young Learners
This event combines early literacy practices with play-based activities, making it a perfect way for young children to interact with books in a joyful, hands-on environment. Our goal is to create positive, engaging experiences with books that support young children’s language skills, cognitive development, and curiosity about the world around them.
Explore-A-Story is free and open to the public. Mark your calendars and join us for a day of fun, learning, and family connection at the library. For more details, visit the event page.
