This unique program dives into the life experiences, cultural influences, and personal journeys that shape some of today’s most impactful voices. Whether you’re an avid reader, a lover of storytelling, or simply curious about the “why” behind the stories, this series is for you.

How to Attend

All events are free, and a library card is not required to attend. Registration is not required prior to attending.


Auyon & Jyoti Mukharji

Event Date: September 22nd, 2026 – 6:00 – 8:00 pm

Join us for an evening with Auyon and Jyoti Mukharji, authors of Heartland Masala. Jyoti is a chef, teacher, and retired physician who has welcomed thousands of students into her home kitchen for Indian cooking classes. Her son Auyon is a musician, writer, and culinary historian who has toured with, and cooked for, the indie-folk band Darlingside.

Together, they’ll share the stories behind Heartland Masala and explore how food connects family, culture, and community.
