Meet Maggie Stiefvater

On Thursday, November 16th bestselling author Maggie Stiefvater plans to share details about her new, stand-alone novel, All The Crooked Saints. Ms. Stiefvater is best known for her popular Raven Cycle series, The Scorpio Races, and the Shiver trilogy, which are categorized as young adult, but transcend their teenage audience. Her works commonly blend themes of magic, family, and science, giving readers great discussion topics. With her sister, Ms. Stiefvater records musical pieces for each novel she releases and includes them in animated book trailers.

Her presentation will begin at 6:00 p.m. in the Main Library's Humphreys Multimedia Room and include a Q&A session. Interested parties may purchase books at the event courtesy of Barnes & Noble. This program is made possible through a partnership with Reading for Life.

Maggie Stiefvater was born in Harrisonburg, Virginia. As a child, she wanted to be a fighter pilot and race-car driver. At age 16, she began submitting manuscripts to publishers with the hopes of becoming an author. Stiefvater graduated from Mary Washington College with a B.A. in history and in 2008 published her first novel, Lament. She also does portrait art, which is collected internationally.
