2022 Teen Intern

Main Library, LaSalle, River Park, Tutt, and Western branches are in search of a friendly, enthusiastic, and imaginative individual to help with children and teen programming in our neighborhoods. If chosen for this paid internship, you will work with the Youth Engagement Assistant on planning, preparing, and running daily activities that occur Monday through Friday. Interns will have the opportunity to learn more about the youth of the neighborhood while helping to provide fun and enriching activities for the community.

Once here you will:

  • Help existing library staff plan and carry out activities for kids
  • Order supplies necessary for upcoming programs
  • Plan new programming on and off site
  • Have fun with kids coming into the library
  • Help with outreach events with community partners
  • Help other patrons in the library with questions
  • Receive your own fine-free employee library card for the summer

Relevant experience:

  • Experience working with kids preferred
  • Comfortable with computers
  • Community-minded
  • Exercise initiative, be enthusiastic, creative, flexible, energetic, value diversity, and possess a sense of humor
